Seascapes in watercolor can be fun if you work step by step. For your beach and realistic looks rocks, spattering is a simple (if messy) watercolor technique that adds a lot of realism.
Suggested Colors for Step by Step Seascape
- Blues – Any blues will work, but don’t mix Phthalo Blue with brown as it will turn green. For mixing grays (blue + brown), use Cobalt or Ultramarine blue
- Browns – Burnt Sienna or other Browns
- Red – any red
- Opaque White – Bleed Proof White by Dr. Martin or Pro White by Daler Rowney or any other good opaque white
